“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness. True belonging does not require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are.” – Brene Brown
BEing uniquely you, means you don’t have to fit into any box. Ahhh!! You are a beautiful creation, ever evolving and growing. Your looks, your ‘style’, your thoughts, the way you do things … or choose not to do things … is you. Sometimes, sharing and doing together, is important. We need and thrive on our healthy relationships with others. Being seen and being heard helps us to thrive. Being ok with standing alone, can be a difficult choice or a blessed relief.
“To thine own self be true.” – Shakespeare
Every day we have another chance to practice. Believe in yourself. Be authentic. Be the light only you can be in our world ….
… at this moment … writing … I was having a heart attack. Needless to say, the days that have made up this past year, have been a gift. I have been blessed beyond measure and have been surrounded with love on so many levels. There have been days filled with joy and days that have been tough. I’ve realized being vulnerable is also being strong. God is ever-present and works through the hearts and hands of people I know … and don’t know. At my age, I’m still learning, making mistakes, having adventures and open to saying “Yes!”, more than ever before. There’s alot of stuff I’m not good at, and alot I don’t know … but there’s so much to experience, to give and to receive … and it’s all based on loving the gift of life.
Today, realize precious moments. Watch for miracles. Tell someone you love them. Forgive someone. Say you’re sorry. Close your eyes and put your hand on your heart and say, “I love you” … to yourself, and picture those who you love … who need your love … and send love out to the whole wide world … because the world needs your love.
