We’re coming into the month of February – the month of LOVE.
As shared on my Facebook Page, touch, self-care and loving kindness for ourselves, is often difficult to embrace. Guilt, time and money can often play into the scenario.
A few years back, my friend, Becky Flansburg, introduced me to February as being a Goddess Month, focusing on all the lovely things we can do to embrace, love and honor the incredible women we ARE. Isn’t it a great idea?!
As one of my goals in 2019 is self-care, I’m boosting up ways to show that love to myself … and be willing to ask for – and receive that loving kindness.
I am receiving regular Chiropractic Care from Dr. Jim Davis. He has helped me immensely with my low back healing, after my L5 decided to wake me up last fall. Great Chiropractor! Now, I go in for maintenance – no low back pain!!
My friend, Pam, is a great reflexologist and does Reiki. When she had offered to work on me, I was nervous, but mostly excited. Nervous, because I didn’t know how I was going to sit anywhere for more than 5 minutes without pain in my low back. Low and behold … she had an anti-gravity chair! I was amazed and ever-so-grateful. I floated in peace, while receiving my treatment. The skill, energy and love she poured into me was so healing. I continue to see her on a regular basis. Because of her, I realized I could also use an anti-gravity chair for my clients, (no bending for my back), and it opened a new door of nurturing for my clients and me!
In my previous post, I had mentioned seeing a skilled, new acupuncturist in our Brainerd Lakes Area. I had my first treatment with Julienne Gienger, LAC at Better Days Acupuncture, last week. After listening, and tuning into the various heart rates w/organs in my body. She knew exactly what the first focus of treatment was needed for me. I don’t like needles. So, for those of you who don’t either … the needles are so fine, you barely feel them, if at all. AND you are flat on your back, so worries about fainting!! I didn’t count the number of needles she put in. I focused on the music and my breathing, and let her do her energy work. I appreciated the spot-on insight she gave to me – physically and emotionally, with regards to the steps of treatment. She also included cupping, helping with blood flow, inflammation … and feels like a deep tissue massage. To understand, it’s better for you to watch this video of her, done by Dan Hegstad. (His business, Easy Street Productions, will help your business grow!) I have my next treatment in a couple of weeks, and really look forward to it.
These are the self-care pieces of love I’m giving to myself on a regular basis. If you live in the Brainerd Lakes Area, and are interested in what Dr. Jim, Pam or Julienne’ can do for you, I encourage you to contact them.
They are my Self-Care Helpers!
Sharing the Love …
